Dr. James McAveeney - Pediatric Dentist Amherst NH After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Dr. James McAveeney (“Dr. Jim”)Dr. McAveeney graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with the Alumni Award in Pediatric Dentistry. This was followed by two years of post-graduate training in pediatric dentistry at Boston Floating Hospital-New England Medical Center. Dr. McAveeney is a past president of the Greater Nashua Dental Society and has served as a Trustee of the New Hampshire Dental Society and the New Hampshire Dental Society Foundation. He is a founding board member of the Greater Nashua Dental Connection. Dr. McAveeney has been consistently named Top Dentist.

Dr. McAveeney has been named a Top Pediatric Dentist by New Hampshire Magazine.

His activities outside the practice include gardening, scuba diving, weight lifting, travel, and watercolor painting. He is the proud father of two grown daughters Corey and Emily.

Pediatric Dentist Amherst NH - Dr. Andrew Cheifetz After graduating from Brown University, Dr. Cheifetz (pronounced SHAY-fits) began his dental career at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Penn Dental chose him as a University Scholar due to his academic achievements, research and teaching interests, and his extensive volunteer work. The dental school also presented him with the Community Dentistry Pediatric Dental Health Award and the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities Award. Additionally, he was president and founder of the Pediatric Dentistry Society. Concurrent with his dental degree, Dr. Cheifetz obtained a Master’s of Science in Education with a specialization in higher education. Following his dual degrees at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Cheifetz advanced his education as a resident in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital Boston, and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he published his own research.

He serves on leadership committees within the NH Dental Society as well as the Greater Nashua Dental Society. Dr. Cheifetz has been selected as a Top Pediatric Dentist by New Hampshire Magazine.

Additionally, he volunteers his time teaching at the Children’s Hospital Boston Dental Clinic. He is proud of his time as a volunteer dentist at the dental clinic of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Indian Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Dr. Cheifetz enjoys time with his family, scuba diving and road biking. He lives with his wife Jenny, their children and their 2 new dogs Rudy and Auggie.

Dr. James McAveeney - Pediatric Dentist Amherst NHIn our ongoing effort to provide the best care for our patients, we are proud to welcome board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Agata Bartels to our family. 

Dr. Bartels was born in Poland and is fluent in Polish. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree from CUNY Queens College, she attended the University of Pittsburgh for her Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Bartels continued on to the University of Illinois at Chicago for her Orthodontic degree.  Dr. Bartels’ master’s thesis studied the effect of soft drinks on enamel sealed with orthodontic primers. Her research on white spot lesions will help her in choosing the best products to prevent enamel demineralization during orthodontic treatment in her patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Bartels enjoys spending time with her family, including husband Christian, daughters Sophia, Adeline and Quinn, and dog, Loki. She also loves to cook, travel, and try new restaurants.

She is excited to meet your families and work to help us create beautiful smiles.

Dr. Grace Hannawi-Tadros

Dr. Grace Hannawi-Tadros - Pediatric Dentist Amherst NHWe searched for a long time to find the perfect dentist to a join our practice - please help us welcome Dr. Grace Hannawi-Tadros to Children’s Dental Center of NH and Orthodontics Too.

Dr. Grace completed her undergraduate studies at Boston University Sargent College of Health Sciences and continued on to graduate from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman Schoo! of Dental Medicine. Since her father is a general dentist, Dr. Grace always had an interest in the field, but she didn't discover her true passion until dental school when working with pediatric patients. She pursued her pediatric specialty training at Boston University.

As a resident, Dr. Grace involved herself in community outreach and mission trips. She researched and developed methods to teach dental students about culture, language barriers, and oral health literacy. She advocated for improved patient rights and for all her work. Dr. Grace earned the American Association of Women Dentists: Women in Dentistry Award. She is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, New Hampshire Dental Society, and American Association of Women Dentists.

Her favorite aspect of pediatric dentistry is seeing children on a regular basis and witnessing their improved oral health. In her free time, Dr. Grace loves hiking, kickboxing, and DIY crafts.
